Limbo
Between oblivion and inspiration
I’m in limbo
from November
until April
in the interim
Surviving
the financial
and existential
winter I’m in
I have to keep
moving despite
my finances
being tight
Stopped working
because the stress
increased my blood
pressure, what a mess
Rowing machine
exercise every day
to keep, as they say
the doctor away
Monitoring my blood
Sys, Dia, pulse, SpO2
120-80-65-99
my health is fine
Grace under pressure
man the computer
research, no leisure
be my own tutor
Preparing posts,
serialisations, olé
heavy metal lists
the odd essay
No fancy restaurants,
no gigs, no cappuccinos
but tea, cheap cookies
and home concertinos
Extra money in January
gone to healthcare
(my yearly payment)
Extra money in February
gone to the tax man
(a false income guess)
Extra money in March
gone to Rush tickets
(they come to Holland)
Luckily I’ve already
paid for airfare and
accomodation of
my spring holiday
In limbo until
here comes the sun
creativity, goodwill
and ideas will come
Can’t wait!

Author’s note: I though about a series of tweets (or whatever short social media posts are called now), and then things got out of hand. At least I got it off my chest.

Keep hanging in there, Jetse!
Jetse, stay the course. Living a smaller life is okay because we see the beautiful in the ordinary. The Equinox is coming. The pulse of life is rising and that helps. Your health is your wealth so that's the best investment. Much love. ❤️
